Meet the people Jonas Frid Product Manager“I enjoy the challenging, creative environment and the dynamics of a growing company”
Read the interviewWhat’s your background?I studied for an MSc in Media Technology and HCI at the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm. Towards the end of my studies, I ran a one-man consultancy, and went straight to Videoplaza after finishing my thesis project (focused upon usability aspects of online video platforms).
What are the biggest opportunities and challenges for you in the business?Putting the right roadmap together is challenging given all the great features we have in the pipe. We have to prioritize exciting new feature requests against the planned roadmap, whilst also understanding our clients' and the market's challenges in order to make the best decisions.
What’s fun about working at Videoplaza?I enjoy the challenging, creative environment and the dynamics of a growing company. Joining the business early on, I've had the chance to work in almost all the teams we have here at Videoplaza: Development, Integrations, Account Management/Sales Engineering, and now Product Management. It's been a fun ride with lots of challenges, and I've had the opportunity to develop and change roles as we have grown as a company.

Meet the people Geries Handal Software Engineer
Ad Player Team“Due to the disruption occurring in TV and mobile devices, we get to solve new problems for our clients”
Read the interviewWhat’s your background?I born and raised in Honduras, where I got my degree in Systems Engineering. In 2007 I came to Sweden to study a Masters at KTH. Before joining Videoplaza in July of 2011, I worked as a Software Engineer at Yanzi Networks AB.
What are the biggest opportunities and challenges for you in the business?Opportunities come from the development of new ad interactive formats in HTML5 and CSS3 - due to the disruption occurring in TV and mobile devices, we get to solve new problems for our clients. Our challenges include making viewing ads a desirable experience, and due to the demands of different features, keeping the ad players lean.
What’s the most fun thing about working at Videoplaza? The chance to be myself and work with different personalities. The interesting part is that with all this variety, we find ways to mesh together and work well. As a result, I find work, the foosball games, mini hackathons and after work events more enjoyable. And that is how it is with any company, event or party: it’s the people that make the difference.

I relocated to Berlin in 2011 to join Videoplaza.
What are the biggest opportunities and challenges for you in the business? The challenge of a fast evolving market carries big opportunities for those who enjoy continuous learning and exploring, and that is a very common thread in the team here.
What’s the most fun thing about working at Videoplaza?I get so much from exchanging knowledge with colleagues and clients; creating and providing solutions that are ahead of the overall development of the market; and working with thought leaders across countries and regions.

Meet the people Thomas Didrel Designer“We believe in what we do, we make great things, and we have fun doing so”
Read the interviewWhat’s your background?I studied Arts, and started designing magazines and posters until I realized that designing for the web was so much fun. After a few years in an agency I wanted to work in an environment that enabled me to practice my skills on more in-depth projects and challenges. So I spent the six following years working at LaCentrale.fr, which allowed me to go deeply into projects and pay attention to every detail. Now, I’m living my dream: I moved to Sweden with my family to work at Videoplaza.
What are the biggest opportunities and challenges for you in the business? The web and its technologies are still young - constantly evolving and reinventing themselves. In such a fast paced environment it is very important to stay up to date. And that’s a part of my job that I really enjoy. Over the years I have learned so many things, taught myself new technologies, completed a masters in ergonomics... Every day feels new and the possibilities are endless.
What’s the most fun thing about working at Videoplaza?Even though the company has grown quite a bit since its creation, the core ideals remain true. We are still a bunch of talented people aiming to change the world. We believe in what we do, we make great things, and we have fun doing so.
