About us
Products
We’re solving the big question of how to make online video profitable, offering two products doing just that:
Videoplaza is a privately held company based in Stockholm, Sweden. We believe that advertising in and around video is different from traditional web and TV advertising and therefore needs dedicated attention. We are that attention.
The company is backed by the Swedish VC firm Creandum and private investors Rolf Skoglund, Joakim Jardenberg, Andy Chen, Henrik Torstensson and Magnus Hultman. More about our non-executive team here.

Prior to this he has been running his own sales consultancy firm and worked as project manager at Framfab back in the Internet hype days (99-01). Magnus studied business administration in Lund. When Magnus is not dedicated to customer satisfaction he writes books and, believe it or not, takes care of a farm.

Sophie has a background as an entrepreneur which we find very valuable. Her creative mind is a great asset as she sets out to find great solutions for the media companies of France. She has a MBA from INSEAD and a Bsc in computer engineering from the Technion (Israel Institute of Technology). Besides from making fun of us swedes and our strange habits she enjoy horseback riding, a lot!
Gavin Morgan, Commercial Director UK
Media man Gavin joined Videoplaza after being in charge of blinkx’s partnership strategy in Europe. He knows his way around in the UK media landscape and was a natural fit to lead our growth from London. Gavin’s background is mix of ad sales at JCDecaux and CBS Outdoor, followed by commercial roles in digital with MIVA/Espotting (Search advertising) and blinkx (enterprise video solutions). This all comes together for his role at Videoplaza working with video advertising technology. When not helping publishers monetise their online video content more effectively, Gavin likes to try his hand at surfing, mountain biking and snowboarding - surfing being very much a work in progress!

Rouzbeh Delavari, Developer
After being referred to as “one of the smartest people I know” for the third time, we just couldn’t resist hiring Rouzbeh. Rouzbeh is into AI and loves really complex challenges. Last year Rouzbeh was in San Francisco doing an internship at LucidEra and now he’s finishing up his studies at KTH. Besides that, he’s a professional music artist and DJ, flipping records around the world. Check out his page on Facebook and become a fan.
Joakim Sarnelid, Developer
As soon as we heard that Joakim was about to finish his master’s thesis, we went to immediate action. Since Sorosh and Joakim had met during their studies at KTH, we knew we shouldn’t let this one slip. Joakim’s interest in film and video has taken such diverse shapes as directing an award-winning short film and developing a complete online video platform with Jonas. When Joakim isn’t absorbing everything there is to know about Java and advanced web services, he spends his time snowboarding, climbing mountains, and fire poi juggling.
Jonas Frid, Developer
Jonas is a true multitalented kind of guy. Before joining Videoplaza Jonas studied with Joakim at KTH and worked as a teacher, technical writer and .NET developer. He is a very social and easy going individual with a strong interest in usability and interaction design. Also, he’s a true language genius speaking everything from Java and C# to German, French and Chinese. The only bad thing about Jonas working at Videoplaza is that we will keep him too busy to finish another novel in his spare time.
Nic Henriksson, Developer
We found Nic through Twitter, when Sorosh announced that we were looking for a Flash guru and Nic was contemplating a move from Gothenburg and LBi (former FramFab) to Stockholm. Two meetings and a look at his portfolio made us certain that we wanted him to join us in our quest. Nic’s interest in graphics and cool Flash apps has lead him to a Bachelor’s degree in IT, Media & Design at Södertörn University. When not doing Flash magic, Nic looks at the world through the lens of his camera, listens to music and speaks Finnish.
Erik Eriksson, Developer
Prior to joining Videoplaza, Erik was a consultant at Ericsson (no relation) as a developer and project manager. He managed projects around a SDK for Web Services in Java. He is the guy we talk to when it comes to opening up our platform for external partners and customers. Erik is excited about working in the online video industry and find new challenges. When you don’t find him in front of the computer screen he is a dedicated snowmobile rider.
Marcus Hamrin, Developer
Marcus master Abobe Flash and online video like no other. He was running his own consultancy business prior to joining Videoplaza, working on different types of online video projects. He is a frequently hired lecturer for various Flash related courses. As traditional video meets the interactive web, we love how Marcus really explores the possibilities of building new creative end user experiences. Besides spending time in front of the screen Marcus enjoys martial arts training, surfing and touring Europe with the death metal band Kaptain sun.
