Introducing… well, myself!

Hi everyone, it’s time for me to introduce myself. My name is Johanna Tamker and I’m the new Marketing Manager here at Videoplaza. Coincidentally — this is a tech start-up you know — I’m also the first girl at the office.

As I’m writing this, I have just started my second week and I must say I’m thrilled to be part of the Videoplaza crew. It sure is exhausting to keep up with the pace now in the beginning, but I dare say impossible to find nicer people or a more intriguing field of business.

To sum my first week up I would have to say challenging, engaging and loads of fun. Next week it’s off to London to meet Gavin, our UK rep, and attend the Admonster dinner with him and Sorosh on the 3rd.

You’re going to hear more from me on the blog around up-coming events, trade shows, seminars etc so make sure to keep a lookout.

In case you missed it — here’s how to double your in-stream revenues

The webinar with Brightcove went smooth and without hiccups. We are quite happy with the outcome and realise that we should do this more often.

If you missed to tune in or want to share with friends and colleagues, here’s the presentation.

Webinar on how we helped Kanal 5 double their instream revenues

Our partners Brightcove will be hosting a webinar together with us on Thursday (November 26th) to discuss instream video monetisation. The webinar will focus on best practices together with a case study on how we helped Kanal 5, one of Sweden’s largest broadcasters, to more than double their online video ad revenues. Sorosh will will be presenting the case from our side.

The webinar is an open invite so if your are interested in attending sign up at: http://www.brighttalk.com/channels/7143/view

Nominated for IT Business Awards

One bad thing about this time of the year is the Stockholm weather. A better thing about November is all the conferences and awards. Tonight, we’re crossing our fingers that our nomination for this year’s SIME Awards will be fruitful.

But even if that doesn’t turn out to be the case, we can get our hopes up for the next award as we’ve just been nominated to IDG’s IT Business Awards.

Hope to see you at SIME tonight or at Clarion the 26th!

Signing Finnish CityVice Network

We have crossed the Baltic sea and have our very first Finnish customer CityVice Network. These guys are genuine entrepreneurs with a long background in the online video industry creating quality content for different partners in their network.

It’s great to see that CityVice Network use Monetizer as a way of charging for their content. It really shows a shift in the media landscape where content providers, not just publishers, are able profit from advertising.

CityVice Network did a great job getting the top fashion bloggers of Finland to create and distribute their personal online fashion videos. The campaign was sponsored by H&M ads served by Videoplaza, the perfect advertiser for the perfect crowd.

Beefing up the team in the UK with Gavin Morgan from blinkx

I’m happy to announce that we’ve found the right guy for us to run our UK office. Gavin is joining us from blinkx where he ran the business development for Europe.

Gavin Morgan

Besides closing big deals with major media companies such as BBC, Ask.com, Miniweb etc. Gavin has a great ability to simplify technology, something that is key for us at Videoplaza. As any other technology company, we sell a tech product, however, the reason our clients buy from us is something else and our challenge is to communicate just that something.

Gavin can be reached at +44 7900821352 or gavin@videoplaza.com
